An experienced journalist, who worked in the UK and America for 16 years writing for a number of newspapers including the Scotsman, The Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Business and the Financial Times, Gill South is now based in Auckland, New Zealand, where she writes for the New Zealand Herald, Unlimited Magazine, My Generation and others. An experienced business writer, she also covers personal finance, careers and women's issues such as their experiences of IVF.  She is called on by a number of publications to do in-depth sector analyses and profiles.

With the publication of her book, “Because We're Worth It” Gill expects to be writing more about women's issues and has begun writing for Next magazine. Gill has spoken to industry groups before about her experiences as a journalist and about her management columns. She is looking forward to
speaking about issues for working mothers at future events. She is beginning a Masters of Philosophy this year, looking at the ways working mothers are portrayed in the women's press.
